October 23, 2010 The seat of learning?

We have quite a neat little library in town, and with a new librarian, and a newly combined Regional Council, more funding.

They have upgraded the Junior Readers' section, which is very well used. Even the parents get into the act when there are computer games to be mastered!

And, is this not the coolest library chair? I rather covet that.

I felt so honoured to have a yellow bellied sun bird build her nest between the cords of the blinds on my deck. She laid two eggs, two babies emerged, and now two fledglings have flown from the nest. The average survival rate in the wild is 20%, so she did very well. I wonder if she'll come back next year?


PS  The male did absolutely nothing, aside from his role in fertilization. I'll say nothing more. :)

My daughter in law, Kay, was here for a short visit, and sent me these lovely flowers.
