Victoriana

If you take a walk in the inner suburbs of some of our older cities… Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide for example, you may notice that some of the homes have a distinctive ornamental/architectural feature:




 
These are examples of cast iron lace, used to enhance the beauty of homes from about the mid-1800s.  Don’t they remind you of crocheted edging on a Victorian petticoat?
